June 2025 – Brescia, Italy — Chopard has once again taken pole position at the Mille Miglia, continuing its long-standing role as world sponsor and official timekeeper of the iconic Italian endurance race. To mark the occasion, the Swiss luxury watchmaker has released two limited-edition timepieces tied to the 2025 rally.
This year marks the 38th anniversary of Chopard’s partnership with the Mille Miglia, which began in 1988 when copresident Karl-Friedrich Scheufele first competed in the event. He drove his family’s 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, joined by legendary driver Jacky Ickx. The two will return to the track again this June, racing alongside more than 400 classic cars.
To celebrate, Chopard will debut the new watches at the start and finish line in Brescia. Competitors will follow a historic route that loops through cities including Verona, Ferrara, San Marino, Livorno, and Rome before returning to Brescia.
The first release, the Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph Tribute to Sir Stirling Moss, honors the British racing icon and his historic 1955 Mille Miglia victory. Moss, with codriver Denis Jenkinson, completed the 1,000-mile race in a record-setting 10 hours, 7 minutes, and 48 seconds—a record that still stands.
This tribute watch features a 40.5 mm case made of Chopard’s durable Lucent Steel. Its silvered opaline dial recalls the finish of Moss’s Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR. The self-winding chronograph movement offers a 54-hour power reserve. Limited to just 70 pieces, the edition marks the 70th anniversary of Moss’s legendary win.
“As a long-time participant in the Mille Miglia, I felt it was only fitting to honor such a legendary drive with an equally exceptional timepiece,” said Scheufele.
The second release is the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control—2025 Race Edition, part of Chopard’s Grand Turismo Sport line. The 43 mm watch also uses Lucent Steel and features a salmon-colored satin-finish dial. Inspired by classic racing dashboards, the dial includes a fuel gauge-style power reserve indicator between 8 and 10 o’clock. The COSC-certified movement delivers a 60-hour power reserve. Only 250 units will be produced.
Both watches are available exclusively through Chopard boutiques. Pricing is available upon request.
