Farer has released three new versions of its Aqua Compressor dive watch, bringing fresh designs and a new movement to the long-running collection. First launched in 2017, this year’s update replaces the Sellita movements with the Swiss-made La Joux-Perret G101 caliber. The upgraded movement brings a 68-hour power reserve, graphite PVD finishing, and a custom rotor with a gold wave pattern. It also meets the high “soignée” standard, adjusted for accuracy in four positions.
The case design remains unchanged. Each watch features a 41mm cushion-style case made from lightweight grade 2 titanium, weighing just 62 grams. It is 12.5mm thick with a 45mm lug-to-lug distance. True to its name, the Aqua Compressor uses water pressure to seal the gaskets tighter as the depth increases, achieving a water resistance of 300 meters. Two screw-down crowns control the movement and the internal unidirectional bezel, even maintaining 100 meters of resistance when unscrewed.
The new lineup includes three models. The Endeavor features a black grained dial with green and blue accents, updated hands and markers, and improved Grade X2 Super-LumiNova for better brightness in low light.
The Endeavor Ocean Blue stands out with a fully lumed white dial under a dark blue wave pattern, set in a matching PVD-coated titanium case with a blue rubber strap. Its deep navy hands and markers contrast sharply against the bright dial.
The Hecla Hunter Green sports a bold waffle-pattern dial with Lumicast numerals and indices made from ceramic and Super-LumiNova, offering a 3D glowing effect. The layout includes Arabic numerals at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 positions for a classic field-watch style.
The Endeavor and Hecla models retail for $1,295 USD, while the Ocean Blue edition is priced at $1,350. A portion of each sale supports the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust, with Farer having raised £53,500 from past Aqua Compressor sales.
Farer continues to distinguish itself through unique color palettes, dial textures, and attention to typographic detail. While this year’s changes aren’t dramatic, the refined design and upgraded movement help keep the Aqua Compressor line current. The introduction of La Joux-Perret may signal a broader industry shift away from the more commonly used Sellita movements in this price segment.
