Tom Brady made headlines at Super Bowl LVIII—not for throwing a touchdown, but for sporting a show-stopping timepiece on his wrist. Though retired, the NFL legend appeared on the field in Las Vegas looking sharp in a gray tailored suit, paired with a glittering $740,000 Jacob & Co. Caviar Tourbillon watch.
Brady, a known watch enthusiast, recently sold a portion of his private collection at a Sotheby’s auction in December titled “The GOAT Collection: Watches and Treasures from Tom Brady.” The auction included rare timepieces like a Rolex Daytona Ref. 6241 and a custom Audemars Piguet Royal Oak with his name spelled in diamonds. In total, the sale brought in over $4.6 million, with one watch alone fetching more than $1 million.
With such sales under his belt, Brady is no stranger to high-end horology—and well prepared for a new addition. Whether he owns the Jacob & Co. watch outright or wore it as part of a sponsorship deal, the piece certainly drew attention.
“Tom Brady is the epitome of excellence, both on and off the field,” said Benjamin Arabov, CEO of Jacob & Co., in a press statement released shortly after the event. “We’re thrilled to see him wearing two of our most prestigious timepieces on the biggest stage in sports. The Billionaire Mini Ashoka and Caviar Tourbillon embody the precision, luxury, and innovation that define Jacob & Co.”
The Caviar Tourbillon, a rare model limited to just 18 pieces, is a technical and visual marvel. Measuring 44 mm in diameter and 15.8 mm thick, it features a JCAA43 movement with a one-minute flying tourbillon, made of 216 components and offering a 72-hour power reserve.
The watch is heavily jeweled, set with 338 brilliant-cut diamonds on the movement. Its case and dial are covered in 337 yellow sapphires, while the clasp includes 18 baguette-cut yellow sapphires. The crown alone carries 14 baguette-cut yellow sapphires and a rose-cut yellow sapphire.
Despite his conservative outfit, Brady’s wristwear stole the show. It was a bold, dazzling contrast to his clean-cut look—more Wall Street than end zone.
Benjamin Arabov, son of Jacob & Co. founder Jacob Arabo, took over as CEO in recent years and is actively seeking a fresh visual identity for the brand. Still, when it comes to marketing, having Tom Brady as a brand ambassador is as good as gold.
