Watch and Clock Collectors to Gather in York for 2025 NAWCC Convention

by Barbara Wilson

From June 19 to 22, the small town of York, Pennsylvania, will welcome some of the most dedicated experts and collectors in horology for the 2025 National Convention of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC).

Founded in 1943 as The Watch Collectors Club, the NAWCC has grown into an international organization with over 10,000 members. The annual convention—known simply as the “National”—offers enthusiasts a chance to browse rare timepieces from a wide range of dealers, attend expert-led talks and panels, and visit the nearby NAWCC Museum in Lancaster.

The event begins on Thursday, June 19, with an open house at the museum. Visitors can explore special exhibits, attend lectures, enjoy food trucks, and watch a presentation by Bulova, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary.

On Friday, June 20, NAWCC members with early bird access can enter the Mart—the event’s marketplace—starting at 10:00 a.m., while general admission opens at 1:00 p.m. Throughout the weekend, attendees can participate in hands-on workshops, view a horological craft exhibition and competition, and attend an auction scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Friday. Bulova will also take over part of the museum to host a special anniversary celebration and a screening of its new film, America Telling Time: 150 Years of Bulova.

Saturday, June 21, is the convention’s public day, with doors open from noon to 4:00 p.m. Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased at the entrance.

The event also features a full lineup of talks covering topics both niche and broad. Highlights include:

  • The Inventive Genius of John Harrison
  • Emerging Trends in Wristwatch Collecting by James Lamdin
  • The Unsung Heroines of Watchmaking by Rhonda Riche
  • A panel on The Future of Watchmaking and Collecting with Roger Smith, Roland Murphy, James Lamdin, and John Cote

Independent watchmaker Roger Smith will close out the weekend with the keynote speech at Saturday night’s banquet. His talk, The Rise, Fall, and Rebirth of British Watchmaking, is expected to be a major highlight of the convention.
