Smart pet tech company Fi unveiled its new AI-powered collar, the Series 3 Plus, on Monday. This collar lets dog owners monitor their pets’ movements, health, and habits directly from their Apple Watch.
The Series 3 Plus offers new behavior detection features that track barking, licking, scratching, eating, and drinking with 80% accuracy. Alongside steps and sleep tracking, the collar helps owners spot changes in their dog’s behavior that could signal health issues. However, some users report that smart wearables can sometimes cause more anxiety than reassurance.
Fi also improved the GPS tracking, doubling the signal sensitivity for more precise location tracking. The companion app is now fully available on the Apple Watch, offering the same features as the mobile version. A new AI tool can extract health details from vet records, bills, or insurance documents to assist pet owners.
The collar keeps popular features from earlier models, such as an IP68 waterproof rating tested in salt water up to 50 meters deep, a rechargeable battery lasting three months per charge, and a built-in light for nighttime safety. It comes in five sizes and four colors: yellow, blue, pink, and gray.
The Series 3 Plus is subscription-based, starting at $14 per month, with no extra charge for the collar hardware.
