UBS House of Craft Showcases Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso Legacy

by Barbara Wilson

The latest edition of UBS House of Craft took place at Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Beverly Hills boutique, offering guests an exclusive look at the 1931 Polo Club Traveling Collection. The event brought together Anne-Laure Ritter, President of Jaeger-LeCoultre Americas, Hodinkee editor Rich Fordon, and select UBS clients and watch enthusiasts for an evening dedicated to craftsmanship and horology.

UBS House of Craft is a global initiative that highlights excellence in craftsmanship across various fields. Through curated events, it connects guests with masters of their craft, fostering dialogue and discovery.

The Beverly Hills location, situated on Rodeo Drive, was a fitting venue. It now features a carefully curated selection of rare heritage timepieces and new creations from the Swiss watchmaker. The highlight of the evening was the traveling Reverso collection, which showcases the evolution of this iconic timepiece—from its 1930s polo roots to its current status as a symbol of fine watchmaking.

Guests explored both vintage and modern Reverso watches, including recent releases from Watches & Wonders Geneva. They also enjoyed cocktails, browsed the latest issue of Hodinkee magazine, and viewed rare pieces like the Reverso Tribute Minute Repeater and the Reverso Tribute Geographic. A Jaeger-LeCoultre watchmaker was on-site to explain the intricate mechanics behind these timepieces.

Following the exhibit, Ritter and Fordon held a wide-ranging conversation. They discussed the Reverso’s history as the first sports watch and the expert techniques behind newer models, such as the Reverso Tribute Nonantieme ‘Enamel’ and the Reverso One Precious Flowers.

Ritter also spoke about Jaeger-LeCoultre’s dedication to artistry and education. She highlighted the work of the brand’s Atelier des Métiers Rares, which focuses on rare artistic crafts, and the Atelier d’Antoine, which offers hands-on classes to share this knowledge with the public.

With nearly two centuries of heritage, more than 1,400 calibres, and over 430 patents, Jaeger-LeCoultre remains a leader in fine watchmaking. The event underscored the brand’s deep commitment to preserving traditional skills while inspiring a new generation of collectors and artisans.

Guests were also invited to participate in Jaeger-LeCoultre’s masterclasses, offering a chance to experience the art of watchmaking firsthand. Whether long-time collectors or new enthusiasts, attendees left with a deeper appreciation for the timeless value of craftsmanship.
