Swatch and Omega are kicking off 2025 with a fresh twist on their popular MoonSwatch collaboration. Instead of releasing a new timepiece, the brands have introduced a vibrant collection of bi-color rubber straps. This move adds a practical and stylish option for MoonSwatch owners looking to upgrade their wrist game.
The Swatch x Omega MoonSwatch series has been a massive hit since its debut in 2022. Combining Omega’s prestige with Swatch’s affordability, the watches have appealed to both seasoned collectors and new fans. While the base models often retail for under £300, some editions — like the Moonshine Gold — have soared past £1000 on resale platforms due to limited availability.
Now, the brands are expanding the accessory line with quick-release rubber straps designed for daily wear. These new additions come in a range of color combos, including navy/blue, red/white, orange/sand, black/grey, and more. Each strap features a textured top surface inspired by spacesuits, a subtle nod to the MoonSwatch’s moonphase complication. This function allows wearers to track lunar cycles — a detail originally favored by travelers and space enthusiasts.
Made for durability and ease of use, the straps include a Bioceramic loop and a velcro closure to keep the watch secure on the wrist. They’re also easier to clean and maintain than traditional materials, making them ideal for everyday use. Owners of newer MoonSwatch models can use a special tool included with the watch to swap straps with ease.
At just £38, the rubber strap offers a budget-friendly upgrade compared to Omega’s standard rubber straps, which can cost over £500. This lower price point opens the door for fans to purchase multiple straps and mix-and-match to suit different outfits or moods.
The MoonSwatch line has built a solid celebrity following. Football star Zlatan Ibrahimović wore the “Mission to Mars” edition, while fellow striker Alessandro Matri chose the “Mission to Saturn.” Actor and longtime Omega ambassador Daniel Craig has also been spotted wearing the “Mission to Neptune” model — a stylish nod to his days as James Bond.
With the new straps, Swatch and Omega continue to push the boundaries of what affordable luxury looks like. And with bold colors, accessible pricing, and practical design, the MoonSwatch remains one of the most exciting ongoing watch collaborations in recent memory.
