Merci Instruments, the watch division of Parisian lifestyle brand Merci, has introduced four new versions of its LMM-01 timepiece. Known for its minimalist design and strong fan base, the LMM-01 now comes in fresh styles that blend vintage appeal with modern touches.
Merci is more than just a store. Located near the Musée Picasso in Paris, it functions as a concept space, combining retail, art, dining, and design. Since 2017, it has also made a name for itself in the watch world. Hodinkee readers may recognize the brand from previous collaborations, including the LMM-01 Limited Edition in 2020 and the Beaumarchais H02 in 2024.
The new LMM-01 models share the same foundation: a 38mm stainless steel case, 9.55mm thick including the domed sapphire crystal. Each watch features a brushed finish, drilled lugs, a solid caseback, and a 47mm lug-to-lug span. Inside, they house a Swiss-made Sellita SW210-1-b manual movement with a 42-hour power reserve.
Here’s a closer look at each of the four new variants:
The Dress Watch
This version draws from 1930s and ’40s design with pointed baton hour markers and a black lacquer dial. Off-white printing adds a vintage touch, recalling silver gilt finishes. Slim sword-shaped hands and a black cordovan leather strap complete its refined look.
The Numerals
This model features elegant Breguet-style numerals—though Merci doesn’t call them that directly. The cream-colored center contrasts with a lighter outer ring, and black syringe-style hands pair well with its leather strap. It nods to classic Swiss dial-making traditions.
The Militare
Designed with a more rugged, utilitarian edge, this version uses a light brown dial, faux-aged lume, and bold numerals. The design recalls military watches like the IWC Mark XI, with some inspiration from Panerai. It keeps a clean, functional aesthetic.
The Scientific
The most unconventional of the four, this model has gold-toned Luminova dots for hour markers and a layered dial layout. Dauphine hands with lume inserts and a standout black seconds hand bring a 1950s laboratory feel. This version will be produced in limited quantities.
The Dress Watch and The Numerals are priced at €420, while The Militare and The Scientific retail for €390. All models are available now on Merci’s official website.
With these new releases, Merci continues to expand its presence in the watch world, offering accessible, thoughtfully designed timepieces for collectors and newcomers alike.
