Shilo Sanders, now an NFL rookie with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is still making an impact on the Colorado Buffaloes football program he helped strengthen.
A recent video shared by Colorado defensive lineman Tawfiq Thomas showed several players proudly displaying Apple Watches gifted by Sanders. Thomas posted the clip with the caption, “Apple Watch after workout. Yes sir, Shilo!” The players also performed “The Shedeur,” a gesture honoring Sanders’ younger brother, former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
The gift carries a meaningful message. Although Shilo has moved on to the NFL, he remains connected to the Buffaloes and their shared bond.
While at Colorado, Sanders was known as a vocal leader on and off the field. He actively supported recruiting and encouraged prospects to reach out to him directly. His new gesture continues that leadership by reminding current players that their brotherhood extends beyond campus.
In today’s college football landscape, marked by NIL deals and frequent transfers, such moments of loyalty stand out. Though the Apple Watches are eye-catching, the real significance is the message of commitment and legacy Sanders sends to the team.
This gift comes amid Sanders’ ongoing legal battle, as he works to discharge an $11.8 million debt from a 2015 incident involving a former high school security guard. Despite this challenge, Sanders is focused on preparing for offseason conditioning and mandatory minicamp, which starts June 10 in Tampa. This story was first reported by Athlon Sports on June 9, 2025.
