Ed Sheeran’s latest promo tour for his single “Azizam” included an eye-catching sight: the singer cruising through London on a massive pink bus. As part of the event, Sheeran made sure his style matched the moment, wearing the highly anticipated Mission to the Pink MoonPhase from Omega and Swatch, a standout release this week.
The pink watch, a collaboration between Omega and Swatch, fits perfectly with Sheeran’s vibrant, fuzzy pink knit. The MoonSwatch is a limited-edition model featuring three chronograph pushers, visible subdials, and a moonphase indicator at two o’clock. It’s designed to resemble the iconic Omega Moonwatch, but with a playful twist. The watch also features two moons that glow in the dark when they rotate and a pulsometer to measure your heart rate by using the chronograph function. Retailing for $310, the MoonSwatch has seen significant demand, especially after its release timed with the annual April pink moon.
The limited nature of the watch made it even harder to secure, with Swatch announcing its drops on social media rather than traditional retail methods. By the time Sheeran got his hands on one, the watch had become a sought-after collector’s item, with secondary market prices now nearing $500.
This isn’t Sheeran’s first MoonSwatch; he also owns the “Mission to the Moon” model. Known for his diverse and impressive watch collection, which includes pieces from brands like G-Shock, AP, Rolex, and Patek Philippe, Sheeran has a reputation for appreciating both accessible and high-end timepieces. He even collaborated with G-Shock in 2023 for a DW-6900 watch inspired by his album Subtract.
For Sheeran, wearing the MoonSwatch on his promo tour was the perfect way to show his love for unique, collectible watches. His commitment to this particular model, even while juggling a global press tour, further proves his passion for horology and his ability to make an extra fashion statement at every turn.
