Tiffany & Co. has unveiled a new watch collection inspired by the iconic rope motif of legendary designer Jean Schlumberger. Known for creating some of Tiffany’s most celebrated designs during the mid-20th century, Schlumberger’s influence continues to shine—now with a sustainable twist.
The new timepieces reimagine Schlumberger’s rope design, first introduced in 1956, by encircling the case and dial in two golden spirals. Between them sits a ring of diamonds, adding sparkle to the bold, sculptural silhouette. The watches come in two sizes—27mm and 33mm—crafted in 18-karat yellow gold. Buyers can choose between a glossy black or a mother-of-pearl dial.
The 27mm model includes 38 diamonds totaling about 0.52 carats, while the 33mm version features 39 diamonds weighing approximately 0.9 carats. Adding to the designer’s signature charm, the minute hand is also shaped in the rope design.
The standout innovation in this collection is Tiffany’s first solar-powered movement. Developed in collaboration with Swiss movement maker La Joux-Perret, the movement charges in as little as two minutes of sunlight and offers a power reserve of up to eight months. It can even absorb light on cloudy days, ensuring continued performance.
This new release follows Tiffany’s Blue Book high jewelry collection, also inspired by Schlumberger. Since being acquired by LVMH in 2019, Tiffany has increasingly turned to the French designer’s archives to inform its modern offerings.
With this solar-powered collection, Tiffany & Co. continues to honor Schlumberger’s legacy—blending timeless elegance with modern, eco-conscious innovation.
