Noah and Timex Launch Lighthouse-Inspired Watch Collaboration

by Barbara Wilson

Timex has partnered once again with New York-based brand Noah to release a new timepiece inspired by the calm, enduring presence of lighthouses. Called the Lighthouse Watch, the design draws from the symbolism of these coastal structures—quiet yet powerful guides once used to ensure safe passage along the shore.

This latest collaboration introduces a new silhouette for Timex: an elegant, soft ellipse case in a gold-tone finish, measuring 31mm by 35mm. The watch is paired with a crocodile-pattern leather strap, adding a vintage flair that reflects the current revival of 1970s style in watch design. The shape is not fully round or rectangular, but carries a graceful curve that feels both nostalgic and modern.

Noah founder Brendon Babenzien, who grew up near a lighthouse on Long Island, described the personal connection behind the watch. “There was one not far from where I lived,” he said. “It was just always there. These really incredible, grounding buildings. They provide direction and safety.”

Babenzien was also drawn to the subtle androgyny of the design. “I probably liked the fact that there was a slight touch of femininity to it,” he said. “I’ve always been interested in pieces where you’re not quite sure—‘Is that a women’s piece or not?’”

The watch runs on a quartz movement and includes a mineral glass crystal, a gold-tone stainless steel case, and 30 meters of water resistance. It retails for $228 and is available now through Noah’s official website.

Noah’s first timepiece, the Sun & Moon, unexpectedly became a downtown New York City favorite. Despite that success, Babenzien insists watches were never part of a larger plan. “We just kind of stumbled into it,” he explained. “Someone on the team said, ‘Let’s try this,’ and it felt right. The things that happen organically often end up being the best.”

Babenzien doesn’t consider himself a watch collector, and that outsider’s viewpoint shapes Noah’s approach. “I don’t even know what’s cool in watches,” he admitted. “I see something I like and I go, ‘Yes.’ That’s it.”

Still, the Lighthouse Watch manages to align with current trends: a smaller case size, appreciation for vintage 1970s forms, and even a nod to fine watchmaking through an accessible interpretation of enamel miniature painting—a rare craft usually reserved for luxury brands like Patek Philippe or Jaeger-LeCoultre.

Despite its unplanned origins, Noah’s latest watch shows the power of instinct and personal meaning in design—grounded, timeless, and quietly original.
