NEW YORK — May 6, 2024 — At the 2024 Met Gala, themed “The Garden of Time,” luxury watches bloomed just as brightly as the fashion. For horology fans, it was a rare treat: celebrities not only brought standout timepieces, but also shared close-up wrist shots, giving a full view of their stylish accessories.
Among the most eye-catching moments was actor Barry Keoghan, who arrived in a whimsical Mad Hatter-inspired look. Styled by Ilaria Urbinati, Keoghan wore three Omega watches, including a rare 1930s pocket watch adorned with 714 rubies. “The most special is that pocket watch,” Urbinati said, highlighting its uniqueness.
Ben Simmons, star forward for the Brooklyn Nets, brought playful flair with a clock-shaped briefcase and a gem-set Patek Philippe Aquanaut, earning him praise for his imaginative interpretation of the theme. His colorful ensemble turned the “Garden of Time” into a “Rainbow of Time.”
Actor Sebastian Stan, styled by Michael Fisher, wore a 1993 Cartier Crash in platinum. Although he wore the striking piece upside down, the watch’s surrealist design still stood out. Stan paired it with a bold, Neo-inspired outfit that embraced the evening’s fantasy vibe.
Kieran Culkin, a known fan of IWC, showcased one of the brand’s newest Portugieser models in a soft “Horizon” blue. His accessories, including a set of statement rings, drew additional attention, proving that the Succession cast continues to dominate the style game.
Meanwhile, Nicholas Galitzine, continuing his association with TAG Heuer, sported a Carrera with a panda dial — a classic silver-and-black design that remains one of the brand’s most admired models.
Though watches often get hidden beneath layers of red carpet glam, this year’s Met Gala put them front and center. Thanks to creative styling and rare timepieces, the “Garden of Time” dress code proved a perfect stage for watch lovers and fashion enthusiasts alike.
