Swatch has expanded its Blancpain x Swatch Scuba Fifty Fathoms collection with a new “Green Abyss” model, available starting June 7 at Swatch stores. This latest release features a forest green Bioceramic case measuring 42.3mm by 14.4mm and houses a Swatch-made SISTEM51 automatic mechanical movement.
True to Jean-Claude Biver’s rule at Blancpain’s relaunch, the watch avoids quartz technology, sticking to mechanical precision. The Green Abyss pairs its deep green case with vintage cream Super-LumiNova on the hands and hour markers, offering excellent readability. Its unidirectional dive bezel is made from green Bioceramic and includes a black resin insert with luminous markers. The watch offers 91 meters of water resistance, reflecting the classic Fifty Fathoms standard.
Priced at $400, the Green Abyss joins the growing Scuba Fifty Fathoms lineup that started in 2023. Alongside this new model, three others—the Atlantic Ocean (blue), Pacific Ocean (yellow), and Indian Ocean (light green with orange hands)—are also available online.
While some may prefer bold colors, the Green Abyss strikes a balance between vibrant and serious. For those like me who lean toward more subdued styles, this new green variant offers a fresh but tasteful option beyond the classic black model. Swatch’s collaboration continues to offer a diverse palette for dive watch enthusiasts.
