Apple has rolled out watchOS 10.2, the latest iteration of its operating system for Apple Watches, introducing groundbreaking features that elevate the user experience. Users can now download watchOS 10.2 for free by navigating to the Apple Watch app on an iPhone running iOS 17 or later, proceeding to General > Software Update. To ensure a smooth installation, the Apple Watch must have at least 50 percent battery and be placed on a charger.

A standout feature of watchOS 10.2 is the enhanced integration of Siri with health-related functionalities. Exclusive to the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2, users can leverage Siri to access and record data in the Health app. This includes asking questions such as “How did I sleep last night?” or “How many steps have I taken this week?” Users can also add health data directly to the Health app by making statements like “My weight is 195.3 pounds” or “I’ve taken my 6:00 p.m. medications.”

The update also responds to user feedback by reinstating the swipe-to-change watch face option, a feature cherished by many users that was initially removed in watchOS 10. This reintegration allows for a more customizable and user-friendly experience, catering to the diverse preferences of Apple Watch owners.

Apple’s release notes for watchOS 10.2 outline additional enhancements, including automatic Now Playing activation when in proximity to HomePod (2nd generation), improved workout confirmation settings, volume prioritization in Fitness+ workouts, and a resolution for an issue causing watch faces not to appear on Apple Watch when added via the Watch app on iPhone.

This latest watchOS update underscores Apple’s commitment to refining and expanding the capabilities of its wearable devices, providing users with a seamless and intuitive experience.
